Telling your story

Have you ever wished you could tell your kids everything you went through in your life? The lessons you learned, the crazy things you did as a teenager (but perhaps not all of them!). Maybe you would love them to know how you handled the hard knocks of life and got back up and won in life’s challenges, or share the moments in your life which made you who you are today.

As much as we try to pass on our lessons or anecdotes from the past to our loved ones, it’s impossible to tell them everything and time passes so quickly in our busy daily routines that we miss opportunities to share our lives or hear about our parents’ or loved ones’ heartfelt stories and adventures. It is not uncommon for us to live our childhood, grow into adulthood, and then have our own families and children without really ever finding out how our own parents navigated life’s ups and downs and what they went through in a bygone age.

Leaving no regrets

One of my greatest regrets is not having had the opportunity to find out more about how my parent’s lives before they passed on. Of course I heard the odd story and anecdote about them but now they have gone, it feels like they passed through my life, loving me, caring for me and nurturing me but without me ever really getting to know them and their story.

Talking to friends about this, I realized how common this is and it inspired me to provide a service that would enable others to tell their story so they did not leave behind any regrets.

Maybe you don’t have children and no longer have parents, but have had an interesting career, are widely travelled, or just simply have a wonderful network of close friends and relatives, but you just never get a chance to really share the details of your life with them in this busy 24/7 internet information packed age.

On the other hand, perhaps you are now that bit older and you feel you would like to leave something behind as a legacy or memento that your loved ones will treasure and remember you by after you have gone? Maybe you are actually still fairly young but have a wealth of experiences behind you and some amazing stories that you would love to tell in print.

No matter what your personal situation, you can be sure that you have something valuable to pass on to others, and telling your life story is an opportunity to share that wisdom with them. To learn how to make that possible READ ON…

Here is what some of

How to tell my story?

Thanks to the wonders of the internet this process can be done via a series of interviews online regardless of your location worldwide. Photos can be scanned and sent digitally, and after you have approved the copy, the book will be designed and produced and copies of your book will then be sent to you. All of course is private and confidential and you would own the complete copyright to the contents of the book. Copies for other friends and family members can also be created, so that you have something truly memorable that you can hand down to your loved ones.

If you choose to share your life story in print, you can find details of how to complete the process on the following page, together with prices and different options for your life’s book. Telling someone’s life story is like going on a journey to the past. Therefore, it may trigger lots of emotions and feelings, happy and sad, but to create such a work will also be a valuable experience with an end product which will be appreciated by friends and family alike.

As such, the process of writing your story will take time, and apart from the actual interviews themselves, in order to compile your complete story, you will need to set some time aside on a regular basis to think about the key moments of your life so far, and the kind of events and memories that you feel are your most essential ones. Once the interviews are completed, they will be written in one of three forms, depending on your choice. Finally, you will submit photos and will be sent a digital draft of your book which you will need to return for copy approval. It will be edited according to your wishes, and will be professionally produced by a graphic design and production team who will send it to be printed.

As a result, the length of time it takes to publish the book may vary considerably from person to person, depending on their availability and how much they want to say, so I have created a range of options for you to choose from, which you can read about here. However, it is a process which is likely to take at least four to six months to be completed.
